Difference Between Non-Inverter Ac & Inverter Ac

Air conditioners can be broadly classified into two categories - non-inverter ACs and inverter ACs. Both types of air conditioners serve the same purpose of cooling a room, but there are several differences between them that affect their performance and efficiency.

A non-inverter AC operates in a simple manner by switching the compressor on and off as required to maintain the desired temperature. The compressor runs at a fixed speed and consumes a large amount of energy in the process. In contrast, an inverter AC means the air conditioner has a variable-speed compressor that adjusts its speed as per the cooling requirement of the room. The inverter technology ensures that the compressor runs at a low speed when the desired temperature is close to the current temperature, thereby consuming less energy and reducing the load on the compressor.

Inverter ACs are more efficient than non-inverter ACs. Non-inverter ACs consume more energy because they turn on and off frequently, and this results in a significant amount of energy waste. Inverter ACs, on the other hand, consume less energy because they run at a low speed when the room temperature is close to the desired temperature. This also helps in reducing the wear and tear of the compressor, thus increasing the lifespan of the air conditioner.

Another advantage of inverter ACs means that they are more effective in cooling the room. Non-inverter ACs take longer to cool a room because they need to start from scratch every time they switch on. Inverter ACs, on the other hand, can maintain the desired temperature by running at a low speed, thereby reducing the cooling time and ensuring a consistent temperature throughout the room.

In terms of noise, inverter ACs are generally quieter than non-inverter ACs. Non-inverter ACs tend to make more noise because they switch on and off frequently, while inverter ACs run at a low speed, resulting in less noise.

In conclusion, inverter ACs are more energy-efficient, more effective in cooling the room, and quieter than non-inverter ACs. However, inverter ACs are generally more expensive than non-inverter ACs, and this is something to consider when making a purchasing decision.
